MPOINT BASE 4.12.2021
Mpoint Base is a version of the Astro Solutions game Xpoint (or Mpoint).
The object of the player starts at one position of the gamefield.
It moves to the borders of the gamefield in the direction, where
the mouse is positioned. The direction of the object of the player
is reversed, if it hits the border or the user clicks with the mouse.
The key RETURN is used to restart the game.
The player must collect the flags in each level and avoid crashing
into holes or pirate stones. There are three more
stone types in the first level, but they don't appear in the higher
levels, because their function isn't playable well. The point-items
can be collected to increase the score. The application-versions
offer the feature to save the score. The applet-versions only show
the score.
The tool LevDesig can be used to create own levels.
1: point 4: pirate stone 5: flag 6: hole 9: start position
The levels must be listed in the file LEV.INI to be found by Mpoint Base.
The version in the main folder is compatible to JAVA 1.1.8,
MSJVM (JView) and JAVA 1.8 and uses a deprecated JAVA API.
There are versions for Swing, which don't use a deprecated JAVA API,
and applet versions in the subfolders. The applet versions can
be shown with some internet browsers or with the AppletViewer of
the JDK (Version 1.8 shows all of them).
