DARKWAR PAC ATARI 3.12.2022






This is a game for ATARI ST mono emulators. It is written in GFA BASIC 3.6. It is not tested on a real machine and it is possible, that it can't be run on it. You can try to run DWPACATA.PRG or DWPACATA.GFA in a GFA BASIC interpreter. DWPACATA.PRG runs with the emulator hatari 1.8.0 and its built-in EmuTOS-image (https://hatari.tuxfamily.org/download.html). DWPACATA.PRG also runs with Steem v3.2 and the TOS-ROM tos1.02de (http://steem.atari.st). There are also no compatibility problems with the STEmulator from the late 1990s. GFA BASIC was chosen as programming language to write a program compatible to EmuTOS. The scrolling is a bit slow. You can choose a 32-MHZ-CPU in hatari 1.8.0 or Steem v3.2 to make it faster. Darkwar Pac is fast enough in STEmulator.

Darkwar Pac is a version of Darkwar Pool. You must collect balls, which are shot by the spaceships coming from the upper side of the gamefield. You get minuspoints, if you crash into the spaceships. The game is over after ten minutes and you can see, how many points you have got. There is a second game mode, where you must collect the spaceships and avoid crashing into the balls. The balls, which were shot by ships, which were collected, are not dangerous anymore and move slower. The second mode is very easy and turns out into a ten-minutes random generator, which calculates a number of points. Use the mouse to play. The game can be quit or restarted with the buttons in the lower right corner.
