You need the free Oracle JAVA Runtime Environment for BrowserBasic 2.05 dp (deprecated).
If you can't make it run, you can use the AppletViewer from the Oracle JDK, if BrowserBasic is located at an offline location, or start its application version with a command line tool. You can also run this applet with the Linux Mint 9 Live-DVD.
